1. Accepting these terms

By downloading, installing or using Inkdesk you agree to these terms. If you are using it on behalf of a school or other organisation, you confirm you are allowed to accept them for that organisation. If you do not agree to them, do not use the software.

2. Your licence

You may install and use Inkdesk on any number of devices you control, for study, teaching or work. You may use what you produce with it however you like, including commercially.

You may not remove or obscure attribution in the software, present it as your own product, or distribute a modified copy that claims to be official.

3. Your work is yours

You keep all rights in everything you create with Inkdesk. We claim no licence over your pages, notes, drawings or exports. We do not receive them, so we could not use them even if we wanted to.

Because your work is stored only on your device, keeping backups is your responsibility. Export anything you cannot afford to lose.

4. The assistant

The assistant is optional and requires an API key that you obtain and pay for yourself, directly from the model provider. Your relationship with that provider is governed by their terms, not ours, and their charges are yours to settle.

Language models make mistakes. Answers written onto your board are a starting point and must be checked before you rely on them, hand them in or teach from them. Do not treat generated working as verified, and do not submit it as your own unaided work where that is not allowed.

5. The chemistry bench

The bench is a teaching aid for rehearsing school practicals. It models a limited set of reactions from the Class 11 and 12 syllabus and reports what you would expect to observe.

It is not a safety reference and it is not a laboratory simulator. Never use it to judge whether a real reaction is safe, to plan an experiment with real chemicals, or in place of proper supervision and a risk assessment. Real laboratory work needs a real teacher.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Inkdesk to:

1. break any law that applies to you.
2. produce material that infringes someone else's rights.
3. generate work you then pass off as your own where your school forbids it.
4. plan anything intended to cause harm.
5. attack, overload or interfere with the systems of any model provider through the assistant.

7. Availability

Inkdesk runs on your machine, so it keeps working whether or not this website does. We give no uptime commitment for the website, the downloads or any future hosted service, and we may change or withdraw parts of the software in later versions.

8. Warranties

Inkdesk is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non infringement. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error free, or that its output will be correct.

Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under consumer law that cannot lawfully be limited.

9. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost work, lost profits, lost data, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of Inkdesk. This includes marks lost through relying on a generated answer, and work lost because a device failed or storage was cleared.

Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you have paid us for the software, which for the current release is nothing.

10. Changes

We may revise these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. Material changes will be described here. Continuing to use Inkdesk after a change means you accept the revised terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them, without affecting any mandatory protection available to you where you live.
